Join us once a month as we discuss what we are doing to spread the word about beekeeping in our local community. We meet virtually via MS Teams the second Monday of each month at 7pm.
Lehigh County Agriculture Center
Join us as we have special guest Regina Rhoa discuss all things pollen!
Regina Rhoa is a University of Florida Master Beekeeper. She lives in Collegeville, PA and manages 40 hives, raises queens and sells nucs. She started beekeeping in 2016 and fell in love with the bees. She joined the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association board in 2017, where she now serves as the President. She is also the Secretary of the PA State Beekeepers Association. She teaches an Intermediate Beekeeping course at Montgomery County Beekeepers Association and also a Beekeeping undergraduate elective at Temple University.
She will be discussing Pollen Trapping and how to make the bees work for you. Commercially made pollen substitutes are lacking in all the phytonutrients the bees really need. Collecting your own pollen is fun, better for the bees and can make you some extra money.
