BY - LAWS OF THE
LEHIGH VALLEY BEEKEEPERS ASSOC.
Article I
The Officers of this Association shall be elected at each annual meeting. They shall be nominated by acclamation and shall be elected by a majority ballot or by a rising vote. If there be no opposition the Secretary shall cast the ballot.
Article II
SECTION 1. It shall be the duty of the President to call and to preside over all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Committee, call for the reports of officers and decide upon all questions of order according to the regular parliamentary usage, appoint all committees and at the annual meeting at which his term of office expires shall present a verbal or written report of the activities of the Association during his term of office or deliver or cause to be delivered and address relating to the interests of the Association.
SECTION 2. Should the office of the President be vacated, the Vice President shall assume the position of President until the end of the outgoing President’s term. Any officer vacancies other than the President shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Executive Board to complete the term of the vacated officer.
SECTION 3. The Recording Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Committee, and shall present a report of these records at each meeting or whenever called upon by the President to do so.
SECTION 4. It shall be the duty of the Corresponding Secretary to conduct such correspondence as the President or Executive Committee or the Association shall direct, and with the help of the Executive Committee shall prepare the programs for the meetings of the Association.
SECTION 5. The Treasurer shall receive all monies due the Association and shall make disbursements only upon the order of the President and shall present a complete report to the Executive Committee at each meeting, and shall at each annual meeting submit a full report of the financial standing of the Association, approved by an Auditing Committee.
Article III
It shall be the duty of the Executive Committee to assist the Corresponding Secretary in preparing programs for the meetings of the Association.
Article IV
The meetings of the Association shall be generally governed by the following order of business.
Reading minutes of the previous meeting, reception of new members, collection of dues, Recording Secretaries’ report, Treasurers’ report, report of the standing committee, Presidents Address, election of officers, election of delegate to meeting of the State Association, miscellaneous business, discussions, adjournment.
